The beautiful grounds comprise some 32 vergees (approx. 12 acres) beautifully maintained to include a variety of landscapes, gardens and features.
The formal garden of expansive lawns is surrounded by rose beds, herbaceous and shrub borders. Four cannons on the bluff came from Elizabeth Castle, where they had defended the coast. The richly wooded valley of native and ornamental trees includes Acer, Sumach, Willows and Conifers and is a haven for wildlife, particularly squirrels. The two lakes in the semi-wild area are planted with Gunnera, Arum and Water lillies, home to trout, koi carp, ducks and moorhens. Many of the trees and shrubs are commemorative and have been planted by Royal visitors. Tombola. Free Nature Walk. Cream teas (£5.50)
