A group of school children saw an extra special sight on their school trip... a humpback whale!
In a video posted on social media by The Horse Box Jersey, the youngsters can be heard shrieking with delight as the humpback jumps out of the water alongside their boat.
The children from Year 3 at St John's primary school were returning from a day trip to Sark when they saw the whale lunge feeding.
The trip was quite the wildlife-spotters delights as on their outbound journey they had been escorted by dolphins.
The presence of humpbacks in local waters is very rare, although two were captured on camera by wildlife photographer John Overden between Jersey and Guernsey in July 2023.
