After just two years with the club 22 year old Maya Le Tissier becomes its leader.
Maya Le Tissier takes over from Katie Zelem who has now left the club. She told fans on the team's website that she is delighted by the appointment:
“It’s an honour to be named captain of this great football club and I will wear the armband with real pride, to help drive this team to success on and off the field.”

Defender Maya joined Manchester United Women from Brighton and Hove Albion in July 2022 and scored twice in her debut game that September.
Later that year she was selected for the England squad and played a full game in a friendly against Norway in November 2022 which ended in a draw. She has featured in several subsequent England line ups.
Maya began playing in Guernsey at St Martin's and was coached by her father. She made history locally by playing in the boys' under 16 Muratti team and was making regular trips away to play for Hampshire.
Le Tissier makes her debut as captain in the opening WSL game of the season at Old Trafford against West Ham.
