It has been confirmed that an electric car was involved in the fire at a Guernsey garage yesterday, but the cause of the blaze has not yet been identified.
Islanders reported seeing thick black smoke coming from Craig's Motors on 29 August.
There were also reports of popping and banging.

According to Chief Fire Officer Jon Le Page, crews responded to the blaze at 5.20pm, where they were met with large volumes of black smoke.
The cause of the fire is yet to be identified but an electric powered van was inside the garage.
This posed 'specific challenges' for crews dealing with the incident as the vehicle's lithium-ion battery became involved in the fire.
Jon Le Page tells us how firefighters tackled this:
"Together with the deployment of two traditional water jets, the Fire Crews quickly had the majority of the blaze under control, and the damage was limited to the roof of the building and the workshop compartment in which the fire started.
“Once ignited, Lithium-Ion batteries become involved in an unstoppable chemical reaction known as thermal runaway.
During this cycle it is possible for the battery to reignite if the temperatures created are not controlled through cooling.
"A Fire Crew has remained on scene to monitor and control the ongoing decay of the lithium-ion battery.
When the battery is determined to have become stable and safe, a formal investigation into the cause of the fire will be started.
