Encouraged by the then Prince of Wales in 1978, explorer John Blashford-Snell launched a project that developed young leaders through worldwide expeditions. Eleven young islanders joined the original journey, inspiring what became Operation Raleigh, now with over 55,000 alumni worldwide.
