Siam Cup Fixtures Agreed

Rugby’s Channel Islands inter-insular match is being reinstated.

The Siam Cup had to be abandoned last year because of COVID-19.

The Guernsey Raiders and Jersey Reds have agreed a format of fixtures for next season to catch up on the shelved centenary match.

Guernsey will stage the Siam Cup on 28 August at Footes Lane with each island hosting further games in May 2022.

“I am delighted our two clubs have been able to line-up three spectacles for the coming season. Not only will this be great for both sets of supporters, but it will also provide much-needed revenues after both clubs have been hit by the withdrawal of funding from the RFU.” - Mark Morgan, Jersey Reds Chairman.

”After such an unsettling time over the past year, it is fantastic for our players, coaches, members, volunteers, and sponsors to have a date to looo forward to in August. The Siam Cup has always been a hard-fought and keenly contested affair across all matches. We are excited to host the postponed Centenary match in front of what we expect to be a packed Garenne Field at Footes Lane and put on a show for our spectators.” - Andrea Harris, Joint Chair of the Raiders.
