We are being warned to take extra care on Jersey's roads as severe gale force winds have brought down trees and branches.

Police say we should watch out for debris, and allow more time for our journeys.

Jersey Met had issued a Red level warning for gusts of 70 miles an hour overnight as Storm Atiyah battered parts of Britain.

Yesterday's Battle of Flowers Christmas Parade was postponed until next Sunday (15th December) because of the conditions.

Sunday's sailing of Condor's Commodore Clipper was cancelled, and Monday's Liberation and Rapide service have also been pulled.

Winds are forecast to ease through the morning.
