Ex-Rainbow Tots Employee Setting Up Beaumont Nursery

A new nursery is due to open at the old Rainbow Tots site at Beaumont.

Little Squirrels is being set up by former Rainbow Tots employee Emma Harrison and she's recruited several ex-members of staff from both the Beaumont and Les Quennevais sites.

It's for children aged between three months and five years old. The plan is to open sometime in July.

"Me and my husband had a conversation together and he actually came up with why don't we create a new nursery? It's been much wanted out west.

"I then got into contact with the manager at Quennevias (Tracey Bunn) and I asked her what she thought. She thought that was an absolutely brilliant idea. We then brought the deputy manager from the Beaumont site, Helen Wiseman, into it and we've gone forward from there!

"We had a lot of parents contacting several people on Facebook pages and it's really nice. The comments that we've had for Little Squirrels Nursery opening have been so positive and so supportive. The parents have been absolutely amazing."

The ownership is still going through the final bits of the registration process, but work on refurbishing the building is well underway.

Rainbow Tots went into liquidation earlier this year because of the impact of coronavirus, affecting 32 members of staff across the two sites.

Mrs. Harrison says she couldn't get all of the staff back because of only opening at Beaumont, but she was keen to get as many back as possible.

"All the employees were really sad. A lot of longstanding members of staff were there and it was actually really nice to be able to reemploy some of the staff from both Beaumont and Quennevais.

A new logo has been created by Emma's daughter - 13-year-old Bethany.
