Robbie Williams entertains royal wedding guests with surprise performance

1:56 pm, 13th October 2018

The Angels, Let Me Entertain You and She’s The One singer is reported to have sung some of his greatest hits at the evening party that followed a star-studded ceremony at Windsor Castle.

Williams had earlier been pictured arriving at the wedding of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank with his actress and TV presenter wife Ayda Field.

Their daughter Teddy Williams was a bridesmaid at the ceremony along with Princess Charlotte and pageboy Prince George.

Eugenie was reportedly introduced to the former Take That singer by her mother the Duchess of York on a Caribbean holiday in 2011.

Familiar faces including Kate Moss, Demi Moore, Naomi Campbell and Stephen Fry were among the 850 guests who attended the wedding.

Eugenie, who is ninth in line to the throne, married at St George’s Chapel just five months after the church hosted Harry and Meghan’s wedding.

She arrived in the same 1977 Rolls Royce Phantom VI that took the Duchess of Cambridge to Westminster Abbey when she married Prince William.

Wearing a long-sleeved v-neck dress with a low back designed by Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos, the princess waved at onlookers before she entered the chapel at around 11am.

The gown’s low cut was a tribute to surgeons at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, who corrected her scoliosis when was 12.

The dress included symbols meaningful to the bride, including a thistle for Scotland to symbolise the couple’s fondness for Balmoral, and a Shamrock for Ireland in a nod to the Ferguson family.

The Queen lent Eugenie the Greville emerald Kokoshnik Tiara, which was made in 1919.

Classical singer Andrea Bocelli performed two songs during the service, accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

Eugenie’s older sister and maid of honour Beatrice read from F Scott Fitzgerald’s novel The Great Gatsby.

Guests later enjoyed a red velvet cake made by London cake designer Sophie Cabot, which consisted of 400 eggs and at least 53 packs of unsalted butter.

Williams, who has sold more than 70 million records worldwide, was announced as a new judge on X Factor earlier this year.
