Driver Helped From Burning Car
A driver has been helped from a burning car after losing control and crashing into the railings on Victoria Avenue.
The man escaped serious injury after smashing into the pedestrian crossing and flipping his car on its side at Bel Royal, opposite the Kiosk.
It happened just after 8.30pm on Sunday.
Jersey Fire and Rescue has commended the bravery of the members of the public who came to the driver’s aid.
They used an extinguisher from the fast food outlet to put out the fire.
The driver was taken to hospital.
JFRS says the outcome ‘could have been far worse.’
On Saturday fire crews say they responded to two collisions caused by the wet weather conditions.
A car ended up on its side on Les Routeurs in St Peter. No one was injured.
Earlier the same day, there had been an accident at the Haute Croix junction in St John.
