Thousands Watch Xmas Lights Go On
24th November 2017
The festive season has officially started!
Thousands of people flocked to St Helier last night to see the Christmas lights switch on.
Families lined the streets from the Town Park to the Royal Square to watch as Santa’s sleigh and a decked out Petit Train led a parade of dancers, entertainers and musicians.
Goldilocks and the three bears from this year’s Panto helped spark the illuminations.
Fireworks and snow-like confetti delighted the crowds.
The switch-on marks the start of the
Fête dé Noué
and the beginning of late-night shopping in town on Thursdays and Sunday trading until Christmas Eve.
