Thai Trial Verdict Due Christmas Eve
A verdict in the trial of the two men accused of murdering Jerseyman David Miller and Hannah Witheridge will be announced in a Thai court on Christmas Eve.
The authorities have announced the result will read in full on Thursday 24th December.
Mr Miller’s parents were in the court room in Koh Samui at the weekend to hear the final two days of evidence.
The defendants – Zaw Lin and Wei Phyo – were the last to testify.
They accused the Thai police of sexual, physical and psychological abuse to get them to confess.
The Miller family also passed evidence to the court that a phone found by the lodging of one of the accused did belong to their son.
The prosecution claims DNA puts the suspects at the scene of the crime. The defence argues the evidence is unsafe.
The pair face the death penalty if they are found guilty.
