Suspected Skeletal Remains Found In Guernsey

12th January 2018
Suspected skeletal remains have been found in a burnt out car in Guernsey.
Police there say forensic officers have identified remains in the driver’s seat of an abandoned vehicle that had been set alight in a secluded spot on the island’s south coast.
Tests are being done to confirm if they are human bone.
The force is also appealing for information about a 33-year-old Latvian man, reported missing since Monday.
Mikus Alps was last seen at a residence in the parish of St Saviour.
Guernsey Police say they’re not jumping to any conclusions:
“Should forensic tests confirm the presence of human skeletal parts, we are at this stage keeping an open mind about the potential direction of the investigation.”
