States Reveal Cost Of Re-Homing Gulliver

11th January 2018
Relocating Gulliver the errant seagull has cost the States £172.
The bird was taken out to Les Minquiers last month after making a name for himself by ‘attacking’ beach-goers on St Ouen’s Bay.

Gulliver the seagull at a neighbour’s window last year.

A Freedom of Information request has revealed the bill for staff-time capturing and relocating Gulliver.
£72 was spent transporting the bird to the JSPCA, where it was cared for before being released.
Another £100 was spent transferring the animal to the Minquiers to be released:

The FOI response says costs were kept down as he was transported on a States’ fisheries boat doing a routine patrol.
If Gulliver is spotted back in Jersey, we’re being asked to report it to the Environment Department on 441600.
