A seal pup has been rescued after washing up on the beach at L’Etacq.
It was first spotted by a member of the public at Plemont on Saturday.
The JSPCA were called and tried to assess the young pup – which appeared underweight and with a head injury – but it swam back out to sea before it could be checked over more closely.
Yesterday, it washed up again at L’Etacq where a crew from British Divers Marine Life Rescue came to its aid.
The pup was taken to New Era Vets where it is being treated for dehydration and malnutrition.

Due to its weight, the pup is to be taken to Guernsey for further specialist treatment by the GSPCA.
