Rugby Raises £10k For Rape Charity

14th October 2015

A one-off strip worn by Jersey’s rugby players on Saturday has helped raised more than£10,000 for a local rape charity.

The island’s rugby club staged a number of fundraising events during their 34-27 win over Bedford.

The special shirts were auctioned after the game.

The money has been donated to Jersey Action Against Rape.

Chairman Bill Dempsey says it is important the club gives something back to the community.
