Rise in Drink Drive Arrests

10th August 2015

Extra police road checks are being done in Jersey to catch drink drivers.

Officers in unmarked cars will be monitoring motorists’ behaviour following a rise in arrests.

From today, Jersey Police are increasing patrols to deter people getting behind the wheel after having a drink.

90 people have been arrested so far this year.

That is 18% more than the same time last year.

The road checks will be in the mornings as well as at night, to check on people who might still be over the limit.

And we are encouraged to report anyone we suspect of drink driving, with the police saying they will act on any information they get that helps them catch offenders.
