Man in court over two knife attacks on lone women in east London

4:18 am, 28th August 2018

The two lone victims, aged in their 50s and 60s, were stabbed two days apart.

Ivor Collingwood-Williams, 36, of Garrison Road, Bow, will appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court charged with two counts of grievous bodily harm with intent and two counts of possession of an offensive weapon.

On Sunday, a 57-year-old woman suffered “a number of stab wounds” in an attack in Parnell Road in Bow.

Officers were called to the scene just before 8.30pm and the woman was taken to hospital by paramedics.

It came after a woman in her 60s was attacked in nearby Chariot Close on Friday.

She required hospital treatment for her stabbing injuries, although they were not life threatening.

Detectives are continuing to appeal for information over both incidents, and warned the public – particularly women – to remain vigilant.
