5:11 pm, 26th July 2018

John Potter, 52, was arrested in the market town of Ashbourne on Thursday, said police.

Potter is serving a life sentence for murder at HMP Sudbury in Derbyshire after being jailed in 2008 for reportedly stabbing to death his flatmate during a drinking session.

Police appealed for information to track him down after he absconded on Tuesday, saying Potter had several distinctive tattoos, including a swallow, a devil and a panther on his right hand.
