New Town Hall Chief
The Parish of St Helier has hired a Chief Executive.
Jason Turner, who is currently Deputy Chief Officer and Director of Finance in the Health Department, will take over at the Town Hall in October.
The role was scrapped 16 years ago to save money, and Constable Simon Crowcroft took on the responsibilities.
He recently said that a qualified local professional should take it on so he could focus on ‘political battles’ on behalf of the island’s capital.
The Parish says the appointment is being funded by savings and won’t increase the wage bill.
The Chief Executive will manage the Parish’s £15m turnover and 258 staff.
