“Of course, I am extremely sad that after more than 20 years in Jersey I will be leaving this wonderful island.
“My focus has always been on sourcing only the best quality ingredients and offering the highest standards of food and service – I received my first Michelin star at Bohemia in 2005 and have maintained star status at Ormer Jersey for five consecutive years, the first being awarded just four months after opening in 2013.
“The newly-formed shareholder group of Ormer Jersey has decided to refocus in a way which is incompatible with my food philosophy and would require me taking a different direction.“
He adds that he will now be based in London, where he will continue to work with the Flemings Mayfair Hotel – in which Ormer opened a branch last year.
It is understood the restaurant will retain its name, ‘Ormer Mayfair’.
