Manché Iles Ferry Out Til Mid-August

27th July 2018

The passenger ferry that connects Jersey and Sark is out of service until at least the 12th August.

Manché Iles Express has cancelled most of it’s sailings, after delays in repairing one of their vessels – and another that can’t dock in smaller harbours.

The Granville, which operates between the Channel Islands and France, won’t be sailing for the next few weeks.

Manché Iles says that’s down to delays with receiving engine parts needed to make repairs.

The ferry operator’s other ship, the Victor Hugo, came back into service last weekend – but with a new command system that crews haven’t fully tested.

It means the vessel can’t operate routes to Sark, Alderney, Dielette and Carteret – as there’s no assistance from Port staff the boat needs to dock safely.

Two sailings have now been organised to Sark via Guernsey early next month:

Sunday 05th August

08.00 Jersey departure, arrival in Guernsey 09.20 (Manche Iles)

10.00 Guernsey departure, arrival Sark 10.45 (IOSS)

17.00 Sark departure, arrival Guernsey 17.45 (IOSS)

18.45 Guernsey departure, arrival Jersey 20.05 (Manche Iles)

Wednesday 08th August

08.00 Jersey departure, arrival in Guernsey 09.20 (Manche Iles)

10.00 Guernsey departure, arrival Sark 10.45 (IOSS)

16.00 Sark departure, arrival Guernsey 16.45 (IOSS)

17.45 Guernsey departure, arrival Jersey 19.05 (Manche Iles)

The Company says its sorry for the inconvenience and the economic impact the cancellations have had on the island of Sark.
