St Peter's Football Club Mini Festival 2008
Fri 9th May 2008 - Sun 11th May 2008
There is a 7 A Side Tournament for school years 2,3,4,5,6 & 7 taking place at St peter's Football Club on Friday 9th, Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th May from 10am - 5pm daily.
There are several side attractions including “The Hardest Shot in Jersey Competition”, BBQ, Teas, Homemade cakes, Raffle
All welcome on any or all three days.


Liberation Dance
The Parish of St Helier’s next big event is the now famous 1945 Liberation Dance which is being held in the Assembly room at the Town Hall on Liberation Day evening. It starts at 7.30p.m with DJ Lummy. Everything will be decked out in Red,White and Blue and lots of Occupation Photos will be on display. There are only 150 tickets available. Tickets are £6.00, each which includes Chicken and Chips in the basket, and wine and are on sale at the Town Hall now.

Fireworks Display
Make sure you keep an eye on your pets if you live near Les Rue in St Lawrence as there is to be a Liberation Day firework display at a private house which should get underway between 10 and 10.30pm


Jersey Scout Association Liberation Day Celebration
On Friday 9th May join local scouts at the Island Scout Centre, Five Mile Road, St Ouen from 2-5pm where you can enjoy a tradoinal cream tea with scones and jam. Listen to the Jersey Scout band, take part in the silent auction and browse the many stalls.


Miss St John Competition
The Parish of St John are looking for contestants for their Miss St John competition which is taking place at Cheval Roc hotel on Sat May 10th.
Contestants must be aged 18 by 14th August 2008 and be resident in the parish.

Jersey Cat Club
The Jersey Cat Club are holding their 16th annual championship show at the RJA&HS showground, Trinity on Saturday 10th May.

Many of the most amazing cats you will every see will be there and members of the public are welcome to attend. Doors open at 12.30 and close at 5pm


Blackhorse Offshore Local European Championships 2008
Sunday 11th May

The final of this prestigious local tournament was originally to have been played from 2pm but to avoid a clash with the Premiership matches being played on Sunday afternoon, the match which is between Jersey and Scotland is now kicking off at midday.
Free entry but there is a collection with all funds going to Help a Jersey Child


Jersey Gymnastics Club
Are holding a 'Movies and Music Carnival' on Sunday 11th May from 2pm - 4pm at St John's Recreation Centre.

This is to raise funds for heating for the gymnasts who have been suffering quite a bit with the winter chills.

All welcome, it should be a most entertaining afternoon.

Show Stoppers!
David Love and Friends present a selection of West end Musical hits performed by your favourite local singers, actors and dancers on Satrurday 17th May at the arts centre.

The evening is being held to awareness of Jersey's blood transfusion service and to raise funds for the improvement of facilities for Jersey patients with cancer and blood disorders at Jersey and Bournemouth hospitals.

Jersey Air Cadets
Sunday 18th May 10.30am - 12.30pm

The Jersey Air Cadets are holding an open day (rain or shine) which will be signposted from the Airport Football Pitch.
If you are a boy or girl aged between 13-16 years old and you want to find out a bit more about the Air Training Corps, go along, everybody is welcome.

ATC activities include flying in RAF aircraft, canoeing, climbing, abseiling, rifle shooting plus loads more.


Beaulieu Convent school 'Summer Stroll'
On Friday 23 May, 70+ Year 10 Students from Beaulieu Convent will be participating in the Annual 30 mile 'Summer Stroll' starting at West Park at 8am. The money raised will be donated to CLIC Sargent, Cancer Care for Children and Young People. Setting the stroll on its way will be Mrs. Valerie Ridgway, wife of the Lt. Governor of Jersey.

10th Anniversary Golf Classic
The Jersey Friends of The Anthony Nolan Trust present the 10th Anniversary Golf Classic on Friday June 27th 2008 at Wheatlands Golf Course, St. Peter, Jersey'
A great day's golf for a very special cause!
Win prizes and help us take back lives from leukaemia by raising funds for The Anthony Nolan Trust.


The entry fee is £250 per team of four. The event commences with a 9am or 1.30pm shotgun start and includes 18 holes of golf, midway refreshments and a buffet meal on completion of both rounds. To receive a registration form call 855511.
