Can you donate to the CRY shops?
CRY Jersey is a local charity that supports young people in poverty in 15 different countries around the world, including Eastern Europe, parts of Africa, Cambodia, the Philippinnes, Mexico & India providng children homes & night shelters, medical care, education and training .

The two charity shops at 42 & 38B New Street have been given a new look and are selling more than ever. Can you help by donating clothes, shoes, books, DVD's, kitchen ware, furniture or electrical items? If so, please drop the items off by pulling into the layby right outside the shops ( between 8.45am & 5pm Monday - Saturday). Larger items can be collected from you - please just ring the CRY shop on 618497 or 618417.


Triumph Over Phobia group
Thursday, 7pm - 8.30pm, Headway Centre, Springfield Road, St. Saviour.

Structured self-help for phobia and OCD sufferers. These meetings take place every Thursday.


Miss St. Peter
You must live in the Parish to enter, have lived in Jersey for 3 years, and be age 18 or over by 9th August 2012. Entry forms can be collected from the Parish Hall.

On Saturday 25th February at 7.30pm, the Parish of St Peter are holding an evening at the Rugby Club to select Miss St Peter. Tickets are available from St Peter’s Parish Hall between 9am and 4pm. They cost £10 to include a finger buffet supper. Please get your tickets as soon as possible so the Rugby Club can arrange their catering.


Summer Fayre
D'Auvergne School is holding a summer fayre in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer. The organisers are looking for people who sell or make things, like plants, vegetables, jams and cards. They are also looking for donations of a bouncy castle, a popcorn maker and a candy floss maker.


Pitches are £10. If you would like to book a pitch or to find out more, please call Sarah on 07829803548.

The fayre is from 10am until 5pm on 30th June. Lots on sale including jewellery, cards and cupcakes! Entrance is free but donations on the gate will be appreciated.

Miss St. Brelade Competition

Dodolings Session

The sessions are for 3 to 6 year old and their parents. There will be games and hands-on activities. Each week has a different theme and this week’s will be Ring-tailed lemurs. Do lemurs in the wild live anywhere other than Madagascar? Why do ring- tailed lemurs have rings on their tails? You can find out the answers at Dodolings.

Charity Night

A charity evening to raise awareness of a liver condition called OTCD.

There will be five bands playing - The Brightside , Jamie Boylan, Lesina, The Sax Man and Irish Duo - Shameus and Vinnie. There will be a hot buffet and an auction with prizes such as a 42 inch Plasma screen TV, return tickets to Gatwick, and lots more.

Tickets can be bought at Dix Neuf brasserie, The Halkett bar , Cock and bottle and the Town House Bar. £12.50 per person.

(All proceeds raised will be split between four charities - Evelina Childrens Hospital - Guys, Southampton Hospital PaediatricIntensive care , Kings Hospital Sunshine Ward and Ronald Mc Donald Charity, supporting families with accomodation whilst children are in hospital).


Jay Morris Spinathon

Raise money for Jersey Hospice Care whilst keeping fit. It's the 10th anniversary of the event, which pays tribute to Jay Morris, a keen cyclist who died from cancer in 2003.

£15,000 was raised for Jersey Hospice last year, bringing the total raised to date to just under £120,000.

Spinners can book hour slots by completing a registration form available at www.jerseyhospicecare.com or by phoning 871559. There is a registration fee of £10 per person, which includes a T-shirt, and it’s hoped as much sponsorship as possible will be raised by participants.


Spring into Nature

Spring into Nature is a series of walks and talks led by Bob Tompkins, a local naturalist and member of the Trust’s Council. These walks, along the north coast of the Island are timed to watch spring unfold in all it’s glory.

This first walk from St Catherine to Rozel will take approximately 2 hours and requires a level of fitness. It's not a circular walk therefore car sharing or alternative return transport is recommended.

Women's World Day of Prayer

A Christian service which is written by women from a different country each year. This year the Women of Malaysia have prepared the service and the theme is justice for women.

Groups of women from different churches in Jersey are preparing to present this service and are hoping to see a good congregation of men and women attending.

Light refreshments will be served afterwards. Those who are at work are invited to come and go during the service as they like and to bring their lunch to eat afterwards.

Nearly New Sale for NCT

Organised by the Jersey National Childbirth Trust. Raising money to fund local activities, including breastfeeding support and 'Bumps and Babies', the weekly drop-in group for new parents and parents-to-be.

You can buy or sell quality used baby, toddler and maternity clothes, toys and equipment.

The sale is run by volunteers, with an entrance fee to buyers of £1 per family, a registration fee to sellers and taking a 30% share of the proceeds.

NCT members (with membership cards) get priority entrance into the sale. The sales are very popular, and there's usually a queue before the sale opens!

A Night In Wonderland, for the Special Care Baby Unit

On Saturday 24th March, there's "A Night In Wonderland" at the Radisson Blu.

An evening of entertainment all in aid of the Special Care Baby Unit.

The night includes live music from Nerina Pallot & The Little Big Band.

Charity Guided Spring Walk with Mike Stentiford

9am, St. Saviour's Parish Hall

A relaxed guided walk through the beautiful lanes and valleys of St Saviour to enjoy the natural beauty of the season unfolding. The walk will start at St Saviour’s Parish Hall and will take around an hour and a half, returning to the Parish Hall for tea and coffee and a cake sale.

All proceeds from the walk and cake sale are in aid of Headway Jersey.

All levels of walkers are welcome although there will be some steep and uneven surfaces in Swiss Valley. Remember to put your clocks forward one hour the night before!!

Places are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment. Tickets are £5 for adults and £1 for children and are available from St Saviour’s Parish Hall or by calling Denise on 631704 after 5pm.

Dragon Boat Festival

It's great fun and a great way to raise money for charity. The registration fee is £450, which covers the cost of staging the event. Teams taking part are also asked to raise a minimum of £500 (an equivalent of just £25 per person, based on a team of 20) which goes directly to Jersey Hospice Care, helping them to carry on with the extraordinary work that they do.
