JLA Lifeboat Arrives
Jersey Lifeboat Association’s all-weather vessel has arrived in the island
The independent charity has brought over The Sir Max Aitken III.
The boat docked in St Helier on Tuesday night following a journey from Great Yarmouth in England.
The JLA has put down a £2,500 deposit on the £80,000 vessel.
It will be several months before it is ready to use in sea rescues, but it is expected to be operational by the end of the year.
The JLA was set up in the wake of the dispute between the RNLI and the former St Helier crew, which led to the volunteers being stood down last November.
The St Helier Lifeboat Station has since reopened with a new crew.
