Jersey’s new Police HQ is being heralded as a good example for all future public sector buildings.
The Public Accounts Committee has reviewed the police station building – to see if it’s been delivered on time and on budget.
It’s concluded the 20 million headquarters on Route du Fort, which the force moved into earlier this year, should be a lesson for other States capital projects.
The review also praises good planning, future-proofing, flexible and able contractors and robust money management.
Deputy Kristina Moore says the review proves their work is of a high standard.
“I am immensely proud of the new police station, not only because it provides the state-of- the-art headquarters that our Force deserves but also because it is a testament to our ability to deliver major projects on time, within budget and to an exemplary standard. My particular thanks go to the former Deputy Chief of Police, Barry Taylor, and the team at Property Holdings.”
