Hundreds Show Support For ePetitions
Hundreds of islanders have made their voices heard using the States’ new ePetitions website after it launched earlier this week.
A number of different causes have rallied support, with seven petitions set up so far on Petitions.gov.je.
The first was for compensation for people suffering from exposure to asbestos.
Now a flurry of new petitions include legalising drugs, moving the Battle of Flowers to a Sunday and capping civil servants’ salaries.
None of the petitions have reached the 1,000 signature threshold for Ministers to respond yet, but there’s still time, as every ePetition to the States will remain open for six months after publishing.
You can see the full list of petitions from islanders on the States of Jersey website.
