Man Suffers Serious Injuries After Cliff Fall
16th May 2018
A gardener is in a critical but stable condition at Jersey’s General Hospital after falling 80 metres off a cliff at Bonne Nuit.
The 57 year old has suffered serious head, leg and back injuries.
Two firefighters and a paramedic were lowered down the cliff face to give the man emergency treatment at just after 9am.
He was then carried on a stretcher to the Inshore Rescue Boat and taken to hospital by ambulance.
More than 30 emergency personnel were used during the rescue.
Watch Commander Richard Ryan has warned people working at height to make sure it’s absolutely safe to do so – by using safety rails or harnesses.
