Busy 2018 For Jersey Airport
More than 750,000 people have travelled through Jersey Airport so far this year.
That’s 24,000 more than in the first half of 2017.
There have been big increases in passenger numbers on Scottish routes (up 34%) while take up of seats on flights to and from the North East of England and Northern Ireland are up 10% and 11% respectively.
The summer season services from German are reporting a 27% increase on last year.
Just over 1.6 million passengers used Jersey Airport in 2017, the highest number recorded since 2000.
It’s a different story at the harbour though, with sea passengers down by 6,000 so far this year (-2%) to 286,404.
But Ports of Jersey says it’s seen an improvement in May and June, withn 14,000 more passengers than during the same period last year.
“The main improvements are seen on the Guernsey and St Malo routes and Ports of Jersey is encouraged by this increasing trend in the run up to the peak summer season.”
