Big Drop In Passengers Using Jersey’s Harbour

Over 15,000 fewer people are using Jersey’s harbour compared to a year ago.
Figures show that 38,231 people travelled to and from the island by sea in October, compared to 53,797 in the same month last year.
Despite the big drop, over 627,187 people have travelled by sea this year, which is 1% higher than 2016.
Meanwhile passenger numbers at the airport has risen for the seventh month in a row.
More than 145,774 people flew in and out of Jersey in October, almost 5,000 more than 12 months previously.
So far this year the airport has welcomed 1,399,166 flyers, which is 15,188 more than the whole of 2016 and 70,000 more than all of 2015.
