Asbestos Tests At South Hill
The States has confirmed that no asbestos material has been found in its South Hill building.
Some office were evacuated this week as a precaution.
Staff were told to leave after debris was found above the ceiling tiles of 11 rooms on the second floor.
Samples were taken and sent off for testing. The results have come back as being well below the acceptable limit for asbestos fibres.
It’s understood the staff affected will move back in to South Hill later this week.
They are set to leave the office for good later this year to move into the temporary States HQ on Broad Street.
