Andy Attemps Double Island Swim
Endurance swimmer Andy Truscott is trying to swim around the island twice in less than 24 hours.
He will set out on the 160 mile challenge tomorrow morning, raising money for Littlefeet Environmental and the RNLI.
If he succeeds, it will be the third time he’s achieved a world first.
He has previously been the first person to swim solo from Les Minquiers to Jersey and from Jersey to France and back.
Andy says he’s got another challenge in mind if this one goes well;
“There is a swim planned and booked for next year which is bigger than the one I am doing. It’s not a local swim – I will be going back into the Channel.”
Andy hopes to complete the double round-island swim in less than 23 hours.
As a member of the Plastic Free Jersey campaign, he is supporting Littlefeet Environmental.
“We’re so grateful for the hard work and passion that Andy has and so flattered that we are one of the chosen charities – we wish him the best of luck in his double round-island swim.” – Courtney, Littlefeet Environmental
The other beneficiary is the RNLI – chosen by Andy’s pilot and safety boat Matt Clarke, who is a new lifeboat crew member.
