Airport Contractor Appointed

11th September 2018

A contractor has been chosen to start working on Jersey’s new airport.

Ports of Jersey has selected GSRM to provide preconstruction services on the £42 million re-development.

It’s a joint venture between Garenne Construction and UK building firm Sir Robert McAlpine – with experience of working in the aviation sector.

Both parent companies are also involved with the States of Jersey’s ongoing ‘Future Hospital’ project.

GSRM will work with Ports of Jersey’s Project Team to create a final design for Jersey Airport, which will start before the end of 2018 and could take up to three years to complete.

Steve Tanner, who’s leading the project team says they’re pleased with the appointment:

“GSRM blends comprehensive local and UK supply chain experience with strong, relevant aviation expertise. Ports of Jersey is looking forward to working with GSRM through the next stages for our Future Airport redevelopment project.”
